General Description
The portable launch and recovery system with two lifting winches, hydraulically powered, is designed to handle a dive cage with 2 divers with 2 air bottles of 50 liters. The lifting height is 100 meters. The LARS with cage & clump is a self containerized unit on a 20 ft. long footprint. The system is easy to transport because of the small dimensions and a total weight of only 4,2 metric tons. The system can be transported in a 20 ft. ISO container. The function of the clump weight is to keep the dive basket straight and steady under water. In case of an emergency or breakdown of the wet bell winch, the clump winch can raise the manned cage. The winches are located within the base frame and each man-rider winch is equipped with a triple braking system.
